My name is Carmen Araujo from Brawley. I used to send a lot of letters to the Imperial Valley Press but now that I am older, I really have slowed down. But this is a special message to everybody from me since I am 94 years old and still alive. I feel like God has me here for a purpose, to spread the good news.
Now that Easter is almost here let us remember to always give thanks to God, the one who loved us so much that he died on the cross for us to save us from our sins and evil ways.
God put us on this earth for a purpose, to be like Him, serve Him and do as the Apostles, spreading the Good News, the Word of life and by loving our neighbor and helping those in need, even if it is just a glass of water.
There are people that wander in life without God, but we all need His guidance and to communicate with Him. He does not need us, but we surely need Him because if it wasnÎÞëÊÓƵ™t for him we would not be alive. Also, we need to forgive each other for whatever reason especially if itÎÞëÊÓƵ™s family. We cannot live a happy life if we do not forgive.
Another thing, like my great granddaughter, Mia Amor Gomez wrote on her letters when she went to Bogota, Columbia, is that just by going to church on Sunday and remembering God does not give you salvation and a place in heaven. You need to accept Jesus as your Savior, and to please Him by helping others and changing the world to be a better place.
So, this Easter, let us do good and ask God to forgive us of all our sins, to guide us to a better understanding of how to please Him and for us to say near Him every day and not just when we need Him.
